Arrive at Srinagar airport and later proceed to Pahalgam. Pahalgam, the valley of the shepherds, is located at the confluence of the Sheshnag Lake and the Lidder River at an altitude of 2,130 meters. Enroute, visit the Awantipura ruins – an archeological and historical treat consisting of two temples dating back to the 9th century. King Awantivarman, who ruled Kashmir in the 9th century, had both temples built – the Shiva Temple and the Awantiswami Temple. The Shiva Temple has been renovated and is used daily, while the Awantiswami Temple, which was dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is now in ruins. Both temples reflect the Greek style of architecture. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure to explore the city on your own. Overnight stay in Pahalgam.
After breakfast visit Betaab Valley, named after the movie Betaab and formerly called Hajan Valley, a perfect place for a picnic with a beautiful garden and a bridge that crosses the river Chandanwari, which is connected to the Amarnath Yatra. Chandanwari Road is the inner core of Pahalgam town & Aru Valley known to tourists for its beautiful pasture, peaceful surroundings, lakes and mountains. Later you will be transferred to Pahalgam Hotel. Overnight stay at Pahalgam.
After breakfast transfer to Srinagar and arrive at hotel. Visit the world famous Shankaracharya Temple, also known as Takht-e-Suleiman – 1100 feet with 243 steps (to climb), from here you can overlook the city of Srinagar, the Mughal Gardens which include Cheshm-E-Shahi, Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh. All these gardens are located on the boulevard road in Srinagar. Start with Nishat Bagh and move on to Shalimar Bagh and then Chesham-e-Shahi. Evening is free for shopping or exploring the city. Overnight stay at the hotel.
